I found out recently this customer has been bashing me on a forum as being a back-yard-breeder and how unhappy she is with her puppy so I decided to tell my side of the story, the true and complete story!

She joined the forum in April, started bashing me in August, yet on 11-26-11 emails me inquiring about getting another puppy from me in the future!!  (You'll see her email further below.)

Although Claire informed me of the postings, she is not the one that provided me with the screen shots.

Please take the time to read everything and see what a hypocrite this customer is!  I previously didn't post a lot of her comments because I knew it was a problem that did not arise until Peanut had been at her new home.  Needless to say I will never let her have another of my babies, even though she has inquired after bashing me on the forum!  Go figure, bashes me yet inquires about getting another puppy from me.

I had someone ask me what DOL stands for.  I told them Delusional Obnoxious Liars

Wanting to go outside to potty.   4-11-11 Peanut on her bed @ her new home!

4-12-11

Peanut's, aka Lucy, mommy text me that she's not eating and doesn't seem to want to play or anything.  I gave her a few tricks of the trade to try and told her that she was probably jet-lagged and missed her siblings plus the surroundings are all new and to give her a little more time.

She is a beautiful dog. And such a baby. I taught her to sit & "shake paws" instead of jumping up on us. She looks so cute when she does it.  I am so happy I decided to add her to my family. Even the cats love to play with her now.

Demodex canis: It may surprise you to know that demodectic mites of various species live on the bodies of virtually every adult dog and most human beings, without causing any harm or irritation.

It is when immune related -- or nutritional or environmental -- stresses (shipment, new home, change in routine) impact the dog that visible skin lesions from mite infestations become noticeable.  Feel free to Google or Bing the topic if you don't believe me.  If you read Shannon's 11-3-11 update, her vet feels Peanut was allergic to chicken which was a major ingredient of the food she was being fed.  There is also a false mange.

Furthermore, I can't tell you the number of people that have contacted me saying the above picture looks more like allergic reactions to something than demo.

Interesting how she tells me privately in the above email she's not concerned about Peanut's shyness yet publicly bashes me for it on the forum! (Her introduction on the forum is further below.)

Wow, look at how big her paws are!!

FYI, I have screen shots of the actual postings from the forum.  ; )

Below is the review Deb left on PuppyFind.  She came to pick him up, we talked for quite some time as she got to know him and she paid a whopping $300 for him. (yep, she paid big $ for him, lol.)

Bottom line, she saw him in person before she bought him, he was not shipped to her.  No one forced her to buy him;  she could have just left if she did not like what she saw and I'd not have had a problem with it because Ghosty is a beautiful sweet boy.

I'd like to know, how it's my fault when the customer does something wrong (nutrition -  care - environment) after they take possession?  Danes are sensitive animals so I believe her marital problems had a lot to do with it as well as she told me and has posted on the forum that her husband did not like Ghosty at first but has come to get use to him.

To the right is an email Deb sent me on June 5, 2010.  Notice how she states she's all for me and how I'm a good breeder, states Ghosty is perfect and that she supports me.

And now come to find out she's bashing me on the forum as well....  Lol, guess the saying is true,

"If you can't beat them,  join them."

Well, they can bash away because they will not deter me from breeding for top quality chocolate Danes!  I'm sure those that bred for their goal with the mantles, harls and blues got bashed in the beginning too.  Lol, and look what their determination got them!

Furthermore, needless to say they won't stop people with any intelligence from buying from me or other chocolate breeders with Danes of a good quality.  The self righteous KKK (Krazy Kanine Killers)  need to get a life!

I find it interesting that she claims Peanut
has had such sensitivity issues with her stomach
yet
she is willing to experiment
and give Peanut CAT treats
as well as admitting she's been eating CAT food all along!!

I also wouldn't doubt she was eating Kitty Crunchies (pooh from kitty litter) as well!
See what that does in a comment someone made below.

Someone sent me the posting to the right
they found on the forum about a breed standard pup
under the topic "He's loosing all his hair!"

Now, I must admit I find it odd per her email to the left (see lower message as my reply is above it) showing interest in getting another puppy from me when she has been bashing me on a Dane forum for being a "BYB!"

Well, if you take the time to look at Peanut's birth page and the two videos you can see that Peanut was "happy" and "healthy" (as well as the whole litter) while in my care.  She also passed her health checkup before shipping as I had to get a health certificate to ship her!  What may happen during a long flight to traumatize a puppy and at the new owner's home is beyond my control.

When our puppies are vet checked the following is included in the exam:  current weight, temperature, coat condition, lung clarity, throat, bite, eyes, ears, umbilical hernia, heart and fecal sample is taken to check for parasites.  If any abnormality is found it WILL be noted on the health certificate.

Humm, can you say "hypocrite?"  In my opinion her 11-26-11 email to me should discredit her altogether with anyone who has read her postings on the forum!  I know it does with me; in more ways than one.

It sure is odd that breed standard puppies can have the same issues as Peanut yet those breeders are not bashed for it.  Oh, that's right, it's because the puppies are the correct color.... The hypocrisy absolutely floors me, it honestly does.

I would like to say in mine and Peanut's defense, I disclosed to everyone who purchased puppies from this litter, PRIOR to their purchase, that I had major health issues/surgery and treatments from Feb 2011 thru Oct. 2011 and did not get to spend as much time with these puppies as I normally do.  As a matter of fact, I will be getting what will hopefully be my last  treatment in January of 2012.

Furthermore, we live on a ranch where it is peaceful and quiet (and I tell all potential customers this), we live in a one story home therefore NO STAIRS and I told Shannon this when she inquired about Peanut as I tell anyone who states they have stairs at their home.  Also, she is flat out lying about the mange!!!  I don't know how she could "find out" Peanut had mange before she got her because she did NOT!!  My vet will verify this!!!

As for the sensitive stomach I don't see how that is my fault!  Shannon admits in her 11-3-11 email that her own vet thinks Peanut is allergic to chicken, which was in the dog food she was feeding her and her 11-3-11 post on the Dane forum states Peanut had been eating her cats' food as well!

Shannon's 4-29-11 email states Peanut's loose stool got better once she quit feeding her the training treats (at my suggestion to stop and switch to Cheerios.  Just as I suggested to mix pumpkin into her food until her stool balanced out.)  Anyone who knows anything about Danes will know many of them have sensitive stomachs and that's only one reason why it's is so important to keep them on a regular stable diet as well as the Probiotics I have all my puppies and adults on per Linda Arndt aka the GreatDaneLady.com

So, it seems to me that Peanut, being an older puppy, maybe got stressed from the long flight from TX to WA and that Shannon obviously did not read my Information section on the care of Danes and has not provided Peanut with the proper nutrition from the beginning as well as putting her in a very stressful household with so many changes in it over the short period of time she's been there.

If you need to verify anything you can contact Claire Nicholsen who has three (3) puppies from this same litter as well as 2 adult females from me! Below is Claire's initial review after getting Peanut's sibblings.  Below that is a follow-up email she sent me after she read the B.S. on the forum.

I emailed Shannon to inform her I knew what she was doing, her response...

I find Shannon's above email amusing as in her mind apparently it's okay to call me a BYB, lie about Peanut having mange before she got her, being so upset I didn't teach the puppy how to climb stairs.... she makes me sound soooo horrible on the forum yet, I'm the one that told her to quit feeding those treats and to give her pumpkin mixed with her food until her bowls settle down not to mention other advise.   She thinks just because she didn't mention my name or kennel that no one would be able to add 2 + 2!

The fact is: Peanut was PERFECT before she left my home as the pictures and videos on my web site show and as her health certificate for the flight reflected.  When I take a puppy to the vet before going to it's new home the following is included in the exam:  current weight, temperature, coat condition, lung clarity, throat is checked for any abnormalities, bite is checked as well as eyes, ears, it is checked for umbilical hernia, heart is checked for an irregular beat and a fecal sample is taken to check for parasites.  If any abnormality is found it will be noted on the health certificate!

I told Shannon what I feed my adults and puppies and  all is well while they are at my home and up until she thought she had to believe the garbage posted on the forums... that what I feed my Danes is not good and "oh, you MUST feed this more expensive food cause it's better,"  blah-blah-blah......   Sure is funny how Peanut was doing just fine until Shannon put her on different food.  Peanut's coat was perfect, full, shiny and beautiful,  her ears were fine and she had no UBI until after she got to WA.!

The fact is:  As you can see below on 12-31-11 I asked Shannon to provide me with her so called "discovered proof that Peanut had mange before she got her" and guess what?  She has sent me nothing! After all, you can't send what does not exist.

The fact is: if the New Owner is not doing things right with their new Dane puppy which is causing behavioral and/or health issues, it's always easier to BTB (blame-the-breeder) by calling them a BYB (back-yard-breeder)!   I believe some people have such empty or miserable lives they make things up or exaggerate the truth just to be the center of attention on forums.

Bottom line, if the problems with Peanut were really my fault and I was as bad of a breeder as she's made me out to me on the forum... why would she have emailed me on 11-26-11 showing interest in getting yet another puppy from me?  Seems anyone with any common sense should come to only one conclusion, she's a liar and/or drama queen.  (as well as Deb)
